Internet Marketing 101 - My Marketing Story

With the current state of our economy, a strong trend has emerged where millions of working people are looking for a genuine way to supplement their incomes. Online marketing offers anyone the opportunity for success. But what does it really take to succeed online?

Because of this painful experience, I was extremely skeptical that setting up a successful internet business, could be possible for anyone just starting out, or for someone that had failed over and over again as I had.

With repeated attempts and subsequent failures on the internet I became justifiably skeptical about earning a reasonable income online. I had serious doubts about the veracity of the many claims I found online and their capacity for helping the average person that has little experience, let alone someone that had tried and failed over and over again as I had.

I had serious doubts about how anyone could succeed in an industry that required so much knowledge about ever changing web technology. After failing time an time again most new internet marketers find running a website, an enormous task without the right mentorship and training.

I am no web-designer or advertising professional, so naturally I found it extremely difficult to make money on the internet with what little knowledge I had. It wasn't that the products I was selling were bad. It was that I didn't know how internet marketing works.

The Coastal Opportunity offered new members websites that explained various travel discounts and sold memberships online. My job was to promote my website and speak with interested visitors to generate sales.

The problem was most "gurus I talked to didn't have time for me, or certainly wouldn't show me exactly how they were making money online, unless I purchased their "system". After looking all over the internet for someone that would give me a break and show me the truth, I gave up and decided to try and restart my Coastal Vacations business. I did a search on Google to find my mentor and sponsor that originally signed me up in Coastal.

Soon after, I found myself searching for a experienced leader to help with the many online marketing techniques I heard about through the company. I knew that it would take multiple advertising campaigns to create activity at my website daily, and that task was proving to be a challenging one.

Like many aspiring internet newbies, I had joined the program, fizzled out and then returned to try once again with the help of my original sponsor. I soon learned that my sponsor had disappeared and had in fact went into what I called "witness protection." (He dropped off the face of the earth with Coastal Vacations)

After finally finding my sponsors phone number in my old notes ( his website was gone!), he indicated that he was no longer actively pursuing an income online, and in fact had returned to a corporate job!

So much for the person who assured me that making money was easy online! Luckily when I returned to my computer, the screen that was open showed a link that I had never seen before.

EDC Gold was a new company that had just launched and clearly was demonstrating value to their members. They offered anyone the opportunity to learn internet marketing free before paying anything to join.

The link I found, was literally music to my ears, because it explained that a company called EDC Gold and EDC Diamond offered their training free, for anyone that wanted to learn about internet marketing.

Once I attended a webinar on a Tues night, I noticed that The EDC Diamond Company was not pushing products, or trying to sell me anything. Instead, they actually focused on teaching internet newcomers, and seasoned pros, on how to successfully promote their own website online. Their training and knowledge truly spoke volumes about the company.

Quite honestly, I was shocked that not once during any of the webinars and training calls I attended did they use hype, testimonials or impassioned sales pitches to sell me anything! They just continued week after week, to introduce easy to understand marketing methods, to assist both their free and paid members.

I also had the opportunity to work with Robert a top EDC Diamond Mentor, who answered many questions and even called me back on a Saturday. Initially I decided to use the EDC training for my coastal vacations travel website because I had already spent over $1500 to get started with that coastal.

Thanks to the information and support I had received with EDC Diamond I had actually made money online! It was so exciting that it was hard to conceal my usual pessimistic outlook when I joined the top earning team in EDC Diamond. With this in mind, I have written this article to share my story of success with EDC Diamond and to encourage anyone that has tried and failed to never give up. There are companies out there with support 7 days a week like EDC Diamond so that anyone can learn how to earn online!
