Dan Kennedy Information Marketing Secret: Avoid The IM Market

by Neeraj Varma

Within three years of starting to market Clickbank affiliate products, Dylan Loh has a six-figure per month income. One of the keys to his success is to not focus on selling Internet marketing products.

Dylan was interviewed by Rob Toth as part of Dan Kennedy's Info Riches course. Top information marketers were interviewed for a series called "Future Of Information Marketing".

Dylan strongly believes that marketing Internet marketing products will become more and more competitive. It's really becoming crowded as people discover that it is possible to make a good income from the Internet.

"The pie is definitely big enough" to handle more people, but "with three or four launches in the same week and sometimes in the same day it's increasingly competitive", says Dylan.

According to Dylan "it's relatively easier in non-Internet-marketing niches". Clickbank has so many products that if you look real hard, you can find lots of good products and niches to promote. "My philosophy is that I always get them (new clients) to start off in other niches then it's easier to enter and get the feel of it", says Dylan. After they achieve some success in other niches they can go to the Internet marketing niche if they want.

When people think of doing business on the Internet they start looking for information on the subject. They get on some lists and all they ever see is Internet marketing products being promoted. This is because they are being targeted for that niche. They are being sold Internet marketing products over and over again because they aer interested in that field.

A lot of people get stuck there. Sometimes they might venture out and try working on a different niche but the powerful marketing forces of Internet marketers pulls them back and focuses their attention back on the IM niche. "There are so many other niches that no one is paying attention to", says Dylan.

People need to focus on one niche, become successful (or not) THEN move on to another niche. Start off with a non-Internet-marketing niche to get your feet wet. After you become successful in other niches you can go back to the Internet marketing niche and you will find success much easier.

Take action and focus. That's the key. "Don't over-analyze the situation." You'll be better off if you get a little understanding and just take action. You should take small steps until you know what to do. Then you can spend more time and money on things that have proven to work. Drop what doesn't work. If you want to learn you have to get started first. "Don't spend so much time trying to think of all the possible ways to be perfect", says Dylan.
