Cheap Weddings - Can It Be Done?

Every woman looks forward to her wedding day. Most of us love the finer things in life, including the big fancy wedding, but we all know that these weddings aren't feasible for everyone. If you really do want to save money and can commit yourself to that goal, cheap weddings are entirely possible. To save yourself from unnecessary splurging, here are some tips:

Bridal Shops:

Don't let them order a size you know will be too big. As you're trying on wedding dresses, you're the one who knows what size you need. But bridal shops will try to talk you into a bigger size, saying that you need to allow for this or that. What happens is you end up shelling out money for a seamstress to take the dress in and make other alterations. Make sure that they order the dress in your size. This is one way to pull off cheap weddings.

Vendors:

No matter what kind of vendor you're dealing with, make sure that you know all of their fees up front. Whether it's the caterer or the band, you want to make sure that they don't end up charging you some sort of fees for nonsense things. Be blunt and ask about any hidden fees. And after that, be sure to get the agreement in writing.

Don't Say Wedding:

When you're calling around to get price quotes from different vendors, don't mention that you're having a wedding. Sure it sounds a little silly, but it's true: If they think you're just having an 'event', you'll save money.

Once vendors hear the word 'wedding,' their prices skyrocket to three or four times the price for a different event the same size as a wedding.

Don't forget that once you have a quote, you can always haggle to get a better price. You get cheap weddings by using these kind of tips. Is this really possible? Of course! The only thing is that you need to stick with your budget and steer clear of unnecessary spending.
